Welcome to the LARP Alliance Meetup Group!
We are a non-profit 501c, education and charity based corporation dedicated to promoting the art and hobby of LARP (Live Action Role Playing). In addition, we assist new and current LARPers and events by providing information and supply resources, transportation for players, classes, media tools, and more. Here you will find a fastly growing group of people who love LARP or are interested in jumping into LARP. You will also find numerous SoCal events and games that we play in, assist, and promote, as well as events and games in other parts of the state and beyond.
*The movie 'Role Models' features a LARP game called LAIRE, and we became involved when Adrianne Grady of the LARP Alliance was hired on as the technical advisor on set - we arranged to have actual LARPers in the film, and the weapons were provided by http://www.IronLiege.com , a custom American LARP weapon builder.
Weapon-building classes, Dramatic coaching, Live Combat Fighter Practices and other classes are taught by the various Guilds of the LARP Alliance.
We also have regular Meetups; a monthly Meetup that moves from the Inland Empire to Orange County, and social get-togethers (Park/Beach Gatherings, Karaoke nights, Anime nights, Movie nights, Dance nights, etc).
We run LARPQuest, which are events that have LARP elements, as a promotional tool for the hobby.
We are always looking for new people to join the hobby! As an organization based on promotion and education, we are also looking for individuals with select skills (photography, web design, costume design) that would be willing to donate time, experience or other contributions to our efforts.
We gather every Tuesday evening here at Twila Reed Park to learn and practice MODERATE live combat for larp using foam weapons from 7pm to 10pm. We play an assortment of battle games to do this from "Meat Grinder," a free-for-all, to "Capture the Foot," a form of capture the flag, and other games.
We promote the virtues of respect, sportsmanship, honor, and above all, safety. So come join the fun! Read more
